Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is one of the most widely formulated botanicals in modern wellness. Yet most ashwagandha extracts are dry powders designed for tablets, capsules and sachets — formats that don't always suit oil-based and lipid-phase products. SomVOL takes a different route: a root-only, full-spectrum ashwagandha ingredient produced in an oil-soluble, softgel-ready format.
SomVOL is made with VOL Technology, a dual-fraction extraction platform that captures two complementary fractions from ashwagandha root. A lipophilic fraction is extracted using edible oils such as sunflower and olive, and a hydro-alcoholic fraction covers the polar and mid-polar spectrum of the same root. Combined into a single finished ingredient, they give a full-spectrum profile standardized to 1.5% withanolides by HPLC, with a 2.5% variant in development. SomVOL uses only the root and is 100% natural.
Because the finished ingredient is a softgel-ready lipid matrix, SomVOL is well suited to oil-based and fat-phase formats where dry powders can settle or segregate. That makes it straightforward to co-formulate within oil-soluble systems — for example alongside omega-3 oils, in sleep or daily-wellness softgels, or in men's health and sports-recovery concepts — extending ashwagandha into formats beyond the conventional powder capsule.
SomVOL is FSSAI compliant and manufactured under GMP/ISO conditions, with Halal, Kosher and Non-GMO status per documentation.
